I was asked to come onboard for the first scene in Müpa which consisted of the protagonist (a hitman) entering the venue to establish himself for his next hit and stumbling upon a raging club/rave scene.

The visuals were there to invigorate the scene and add visual interest to the image. The director requested for certain visual imagery to be incorporated into the visuals such as the eye (the hitman is being watched) and the cross the lorraine (a reference to the original movie). The aesthetic direction was kept dark, black and white with glitching and strobing to suit the mood of the scene.

I was later asked to help out with a second scene in which the protagonist enacts the hit on his main target. The location is the same but the setting is a large tech platform unveiling with a walkout and a speech of the CEO. This time the visuals were there to mark his walk out and his new platform ‘River’ and establish a notion of prestige and class that this event has. Themes such as water, digital, financial fluidity were aimed at.

The series is aired on Sky Now end of 2024.
